Ceramic Collection on Domestic Violence
This piece "668" is a finalist in the Wellington Regional Arts Review 2020 and will be exhibited at Expressions Gallery, Upper Hutt, Auckland Dec 5th to Jan 17th 2021.
668 represents the number of NZer's who took their own lives 2017/2018.
486
Bisqued and smoked clay, 486 fingerprints represent the number of women, children and men killed in NZ as a result of domestic violence between 2004 and 2015.
Standing room only
Rolled and smoked clay, placed in a found drawer from a domestic setting. A commentary on our prison system.



200
Fired stoneware clay, stitched to black webbing, hung between two rifle barrels. 200 is about those NZer's who died as a result of gunshots between 2004 and April 2019.
Conversations over Tea

Used teabags, paper clay, found domestic cutlery box, found spoon.
This piece contains snippets of conversations related to domestic problems that may be spoken about between friends.
Waxed Squares
Working with encaustic wax on watercolour paper - the theme was revealing and concealing, an idea I wish to explore further.

Smoked clay, army webbing and threads on found timber.
Everyone should have a safe place where they can lay their heads and reside in safety. A continuation of the domestic violence series.
